The institute founded in 1890 strives at making the teacher-trainees LIGHT aloft on the candle on the candle stand, radiating CHRIST the LIGHT who is our INSPIRATION and GOAL.

The COAT OF ARMS in the shape of a circle against the background of a cross symbolizes knowledge as integrated whole to be sought in Christ who is the source of all knowledge and wisdom, the Alpha and Omega.
The TWO HANDS outstretched holding the lamps represent the teacher and Trainee, the latter receiving guidance and enlightenment from the former so as to dispel ignorance and illiteracy from our motherland. The colours WHITE and BLUE stand for Purity and Truth which mean singleness of purpose in the pursuit of truth under the patronage of St. Anne the model of all teachers.
The WORDS highlighted on the coat of arms depict the motto and mission of the Teacher Training Institution ‘Let your light shine forth’ emanating from the cross of Christ.
